What We’d Do This Weekend – 7/6-7/8

Movie: Safety Not Guaranteed at Laemmle’s Monica Fourplex
We know, it’s not really an event, but you’ve got to trust us, you want to see this one. Starring April Ludgate, Nick Miller, and Mark Duplass. Movie starts at 10:15. See you for drinks at Renee’s after?
1332 2nd Street, Santa Monica, CA

Music: San Pedro Squeeze: An Accordian Festival at Grand Performances
Really shock that woman with the cat calendar in the cubicle next to you when she casually asks you what you did over the weekend on Monday. Floor everyone by saying you went to an accordian festival. Listen to the eclectic sounds for free underneath the stars for a perfectly adventurous Friday evening on the cheap.
350 S. Grand Avenue, Los Angeles

Other: American Apparel Factory Flea Market at American Apparel Warehouse
Start your night off right with a stop to the American Apparel Factory Flea Market where merch runs up to 90% off!
747 Warehouse St, Los Angeles, CA 90021

Movie: The Big Lebowski at the Devil’s Night Drive-In
A drive-in movie theater in downtown LA with astroturf and car hops will totally welcome your “dude” costume, even if that’s just how you always dress. Gates open at 7:30, movie screens at 9.
240 W. 4th St. (at Broadway) – 2nd Floor, Downtown Los Angeles

Music: Vans Classic Summer Party at the Bootleg
Yacht, Papa, and Kisses (DJ Set) play a totally FREE show at the Bootleg this weekend – almost unheard of for a Saturday night!
Show starts at 8 pm.
2220 Beverly Blvd

Other: Hollywood Indie Night Market at the Sunshine Lot
Eclectic shopping and craft brews. We admit, we haven’t been to this one, but the idea of drinking and shopping local vendors in the middle of Hollywood sounds worth checking out, and it’s completely free to get in! Opens at 2 pm, closes at 10 pm.
6200 Hollywood Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90028

Movie: T.J. Miller’s Hangover Matinee: The Forbidden Zone at Cinefamily
Where else does a movie theater dish up brunch and comedy by the amazing T.J. Miller before screening old movies? Only at Cinefamily. Cure your hangover the right way: laugh it off. Brunch begins at 11:30, T.J. at 12:30, The Forbidden Zone at 1:30.
611 N. Fairfax Avenue

Music: Dustbowl Revival and others at the Moonlight Jamboree
An old style Circus themed dinner jamboree. Though we have it under music, the Jamboree features local bands, cabaret, jugglers, palm readers, lion tamers, and more. One of our local favorites the Dustbowl Revival will be playing. Tickets are $40, but it seems worth it for this unique experience! Begins at 7 pm.
4133 & 4137 Chase Ave. LA, CA 90066

Other: Flea Market at the Rose Bowl, Pasadena
It’s famous for a reason. Get your Sunday started right with some sweaty summer antique hunting. Doors open at 9 am, and tickets are $8.
