The Del Monte Speakeasy

The Del Monte Speakeasy

The Del Monte Speakeasy hosts live shows and cocktails in the basement of The Townhouse. It’s location is right off the hustle and bustle of Charlie Sheen t-shirts and hookah shops that make up this stretch of the Venice boardwalk. It is decorated in rich reds and golds with a small stage for local performers, like a quiet hideaway that still has some westside flair. This isn’t one of those hip speakeasies that opened in 2008 – the Del Monte was created as a part of Townhouse back during the Prohibition, and Townhouse is Los Angeles’s oldest watering hole. It now houses performers, locals, and people who come to swing and dance to music from another time, or simply relax at its big red bar perfectly suited for Joan Harris.
