AN ISLAND OF (CHRISTMAS) LIGHTS
Naples Island, in general, is usually enough to put a smile on any Scrooge. A nearly hidden gem in Long Beach that has the flavor of the Venice Canals, and is almost ten times the size, lights up the waterways every holiday season with the most festive and outlandish display of boats and million dollar homes you’ve seen anywhere. Old Christmas movies project onto the sides of buildings, a family hosts a gigantic bubble machine and blasts oldies, a mansion turns itself into a representation of a Christmas Story, and a carnival of miniatures pops up around the most wonderful time of the year: it’s the perfect way to bring a family together and get nostalgic with a cup of hot cocoa in hand. Couples and families stroll together and bring in new traditions in a place so beautiful you could almost believe it might start snowing.
