Greystone Mansion & Park

Greystone Mansion is probably the closest we’ll ever get to lounging around our own personal mansion on a Sunday afternoon, but since it’s absolutely breathtaking, free, and has generous hours, we’ll take what we can get. Not to be confused with a popular night spot of a similar name, Greystone Mansion, also known as the Doheny Estate, is a famous mansion turned public park and a wonderful place to take a quiet moment to yourself, sneak a kiss, or reinact scenes from Pride and Prejudice. With its ornate fountains and English gardens, you’ll feel like Colin Firth in no time, and the mansion is usually quiet enough to relax and enjoy a still standing marvel of the late 20’s. If you’re into ghosties and ghoulies, the grounds do have a dark history with it’s original owner being involved in a murder suicide, but walking the mansion today, we’ve never felt anything but the sun shining and the birds chirping. The descending staircase is one of the most used shooting locations in history, and your favorites like Spider Man, The Prestige, The Social Network, and There Will Be Blood have all enjoyed craft services on its grounds.
